Understanding the performativity of COVID-19

Since the COVID-19 outbreak in January 2020, pandemic has been changing rapidly with shifting social norms. This autoethnography of my lockdown experiences China and UK 2020 illustrates how I adjusted daily acts to norms different situations these adjustments changed me as a self-regulated subject reshaped understanding COVID-19. Drawing on Butler’s theory performativity, analyse self-protection created physical relationship between embodied self As kept norms, this was constantly redefined, constituting fluid status close relation an equally concept study suggests two-fold performativity COVID-19: 1) pandemic, 2) dimension construct. Both are performatively constructed individuals practice regulatory through repetitive concrete contexts.
